BUTCHERS INTER-TOWN CUP
Josh Green, Dale Coverley & Edward Winfield represented Grantham this weekend in the Butchers cup at Lincoln.

Scunthorpe failed to turn up on the day which only left 3 teams in the whole event. Grantham's first opponents were Grimsby which resulted in a 5-5 draw followed then by a 9-1 win over Lincoln.

Grantham players were on tender hooks for the final match between Grimsby and Lincoln which was won by Grimsby 9-1. This meant that David Brown the organiser had to use the count back method.

After a few hours wait at home David informed us that Grantham will retain the cup for the 2nd year running by winning 51-48 on sets over Grimsby.

BUTLINS INTER-TOWN CUP
Grantham retain the Butlin Cup

Following last years success Hannah Winfield and Emily Roys (Spartans) together with Gemma Griffin and Hannah Noutch (Cliffedale Chandlers) retained the inter-town ladies championship beating teams from Lincoln, Scunthorpe and Grimsby 10-0, 10-0 & 7-3 respectively.

Hannah and Emily played in all the rounds winning all their matches including the doubles. Gemma and Hannah Noutch played the third singles on a rotational basis notching up a good proportion of wins.
