Grantham finished a creditable runners up behind Lincoln with three out of four wins over the two Sundays. A 6-4 win for Grantham v Scunthorpe led to the decider against Lincoln in the final match Grantham & Lincoln played for the top spot as both had three wins a piece. In fact Lincoln had not dropped a rubber until they played Grantham. Lincoln overcame Grantham in a very tight match 6-4 despite John Taylor beating all three Lincoln players (Andy Wignall, Mark Donaghue & Dan Rimmer).
